Divers Incorporated: A Journey Through Passion and Innovation

Our Story:

From a fun partnership in 1974 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Divers Incorporated has evolved into a beacon of diving excellence and innovation. Founded originally as Recreational Diving by Mike Black and later transformed to Divers Incorporated under the vision of Richard Roost, Jr., our dive shop has grown from a local scuba hub into a renowned name in the diving world. The story of Divers Incorporated is one of innovation, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of diving excellence.

In 1985, Richard Roost, Jr., an auto mechanic and dive enthusiast, took over the reins, propelling Divers Incorporated to new heights. Under his leadership, we became Michigan's first PADI Five Star Instructor Development Center, shaping hundreds of new divers annually. Our growth continued with new locations and an expansion into technical diving and nitrox fills.

Tragedy struck in 1998 with the loss of Richard Roost, Jr., but his legacy was honored and continued by his father, Richard Roost, Sr., and later by Rich Synowiec, who took over in 2004. Rich brought new energy, focusing on innovative training for all diving levels and introducing modern facilities.
